BOSSIER CITY – Funeral services celebrating the life of Quincy Golihar, 79, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at University Church of Christ in Shreveport. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery. Officiating will be Jerry Hodge. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Hill Crest Funeral Home.
Quincy was born on October 24, 1934 and passed away April 18, 2014. He was born in Texarkana, TX and resided in Bossier City, Louisiana for the majority of his life. He served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955 and served his country honorably on the U.S.S. Bataan during the Korean War. Quincy was proud to have worked for 28 years for the Bossier City Fire Department where he retired as Assistant Chief.
Quincy was brave, strong, and fearless with the heart of a saint. There were many times where he risked his own life to save the lives of others and did so courageously. He will forever be remembered as a true life hero to all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sam Quincy Golihar and mother Nora May Golihar. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 64 years, Norma; brother, Bobby Golihar; 2 sons and their spouses, Deen and Vickie Golihar, Billy and Melody Golihar; 3 grandchildren, Brittney and her husband Richard Pool, Colton Golihar, and Bode Golihar; and 1 great-grandson, Luke Pool.
