Rolla Clayton (R.C.) Hill passed away at his family home in Bossier City on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at the age of 85.
R.C. is predeceased by nine brothers and sisters, Lennie Hill, Irma Withrow, Linda Miller, Lawrence Hill, Ernestine Howe, Lloyd Hill, Aubrey Hill, Neva Martin, Kermit Hill, as well as his parents Stephen and Claudia Hill.
R.C. is survived by his loving wife, Nenita, of 27 years. They were married in Houston, Texas on December 20, 1986.
R.C. is lovingly remembered by Valerie Lynn and Clifford Sanders of Xela, Guatelmala, Teresa Blythe Hill of Mesa, AZ, Timothy Clayton & Robin Hill of Arlington, TX, and Raquel Christine Hill of Austin, TX, along with his grandchildren Ryan, Nicole, Jacqueline, Jessica, Rita, Joey, Steve, Evan, Miles, Samantha, Christian and Michael, his four great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Collin, Jackson and Cade, and his sole surviving sibling, Letha Fern Clark (94) of Butler, MO.
R. C. was born in Rich Hill, Missouri on October 8, 1927. He graduated from Butler High School in 1945, joined the US Army, and went on to earn a degree in Accounting from Central Missouri University. He began his professional career at Dun & Bradstreet and the Houston SBA and moved into banking until he retired in 1985 from American Bank of Commerce in Lake Charles, LA.
After retirement, R.C. sailed his 38’ Catalina sailboat from Galveston, TX to St. Thomas in the American Virgin Islands and then resided in Puerto Rico with his wife and daughter Raquel until 1992. He returned to Bossier City in 1996 and began working for the Better Business Bureau in 2003 as Executive Vice President until three weeks prior to his passing.
The celebration of life will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church (3200 Airline Drive, Bossier City) on Saturday June 8, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. RamonaLynn Bethley officiating. Refreshments will follow the service at the church.
