‘Red Out for Rodney’ at Friday’s Haughton game

It will be “Red Out for Rodney” night Friday at Haughton’s Harold E. Harlan Stadium.

At 6:30 p.m. before the Bucs’ game against St. Mary’s, Haughton head coach and athletic director Rodney Guin will be recognized along with his family and members of the Willis Knighton Cardiac team that provided care to him following his heart attack last spring.

Haughton principal Gene Couvillion will make a check presentation to the American Heart Association in honor of Coach Guin.

Afterward, there will be a moment of silence to honor and remember loved ones that are heart disease survivors.

Students and faculty will also be wearing red, in particular T-shirts sold by the Haughton cheerleaders that say “This is Your Life; #GOREDFORRODNEY” and Guin’s motto: 1 School, 1 Team, 1 Heart.
