Miss Teen USA 2017 Sophia Dominguez-Heithoff had a meet and greet with students at the Bossier Parish School for Technology and Innovative Learning Tuesday morning.

Principal Jayda Spillers also shared the Career and Technical Education mission and vision, which is to provide meaningful electives that would allow high school students to become college and career ready in order to provide a better skilled workforce for business and industry.

At BPSTIL, students learn how to combine academic skills learned in the classroom with practical experience in shop/lab settings. Many of these students are also dually enrolled with the Louisiana Technical College (LTC) and Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC), which allows them to earn college credit toward a technical diploma or an associate degree while still in high school.
