The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development reminds motorists that there will be ongoing intermittent lane and/or brief road closures on the Arthur Ray Teague Parkway in Bossier City and Clyde Fant Parkway in Shreveport.
These intermittent closures are related to the current Jimmie Davis Bridge replacement project that is underway over the Red River in Caddo and Bossier Parishes, and will continue over the next several months.
It is necessary to move cranes across these roadways for the purpose of constructing the new bridge, and these operations will require brief closures during these periods. This will take place during non-peak travel times, and should have minimal impact to traffic.
Motorists should also be aware of various traffic shifts along LA 511 (Jimmie Davis Hwy) as the roadway is being widened and realigned in order to properly align with the new bridge structure.
This project is organized into five phases of construction. To read details on all those phases, as well as access detour maps, previous updates, and find other helpful resources, visit the project webpage here.
Safety reminder:
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
