The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development reminds motorists that the $123 million I-20 major rehabilitation project in Bossier City continues to progress, and the I-20 eastbound on and off-ramps at the Airline Drive (LA 3105) interchange are now closed for full reconstruction.
This closure will allow the contractor to begin the process of removing the old concrete and roadway base, and rebuilding new ramps at this location.
Once the I-20 westbound ramps at the Industrial Drive and Old Minden Road interchanges have been reopened to traffic, then the westbound ramps at the Airline Drive interchange will also close for reconstruction. This is scheduled to take place in late May, weather and other factors permitting.
The Airline Drive ramps are anticipated to be closed for approximately 4 months, weather permitting.
Also, as a reminder, the I-20 eastbound off-ramp at the Barksdale Blvd. (US 71) interchange is currently closed to allow for its demolition and rebuild.
The I-20 eastbound off-ramp at the Industrial Drive interchange was reopened to traffic on Friday, May 2, 2025.

CMV REMINDER:
Commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) such as 18-wheelers are currently prohibited under Louisiana Revised Statute 32:327 from driving through the rehab work zone (from Hamilton Road to Industrial Drive) due to narrow lane widths. As construction progresses and the new travel lanes are built, this prohibition will be assessed for its necessity. CMV drivers must utilize the primary detour of I-220.
Safety reminder:
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone. Pedestrians should avoid walking or bicycling on an interstate.
