Rifle range opens to public

The Bossier Sheriff’s Office is opening its rifle range to residents starting Sept. 27 each Friday and Saturday over three weekends from Sept. 27 through Oct. 12.

The range, located at 2955 Old Plain Dealing Road in Plain Dealing, will have four times for which shooters can sign up (8 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.)

The range features 12 shooting lanes with targets at 100, 200, 300 and 400 yards and will allow shooters to sight in their rifles and be ready to safely head out this hunting season.

Shooters will need to bring their own weapons and ammunition and hearing and eye protection. Basic targets will also be available at the range, but shooters are welcome to bring their own paper targets.

Call the North Louisiana Criminal Justice Academy at 965-3525 to register.
