Jimmy and Donna Robinson of 811 Dumaine Drive have received this month’s “St. Charles Court Beautification Award” for their meticulous lawn and landscaping.
The colorful seasonal plantings are carefully shaped and pruned throughout the year. Jimmy completed his Master Gardener certification at the LSU Ag Center in Shreveport after he retired from his medical career at the Highland Clinic. Both Jimmy and Donna and have dedicated their lives to the field of medicine. He served as an Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist and she as a surgical nurse at Christus Schumpert Highland.
According to the Robinsons, the wonderful aspect about retirement is that every day is like a Saturday for them. Family gardening projects are not only exhibited in the front yard, but in the backyard, where you will find an abundant tomato crop that is shared with family and neighbors. He hopes to harvest peaches, lemons, and kumquats in the future to round out his culinary garden.
Walking through St. Charles Court will always be a colorful stroll as the neighbors continues to highlight their homes with seasonal knockout roses, azaleas, Indian hawthorns, mums and other regional delights.
