Plain Dealing, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Ruth Gish Shepard, 95, will be held at 2:00p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Glen Ketchum and Rev. Arlene Parker. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 1:00p.m. until service time on Wednesday.
Ruth was born on January 5, 1919 in Scottsboro, AL and passed away on February 15, 2014 in Plain Dealing, LA. Mrs. Shepard was a good Christian woman who devoted her life to her family and God.
Mrs. Shepard was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Gish; second husband, Dr. Wayne Shepard; brothers, Howard, Harlan, J.A. and Wallace; and sisters, Tempee, Ruby and Cecile.
Left to cherish beautiful memories of Ruth are her children, Denvil Gish and wife Clarene of Louisa, KY, Roy Gish and wife Rena of New Boston, TX, Carlene Heath and husband Al of Bothell, WA and Charlotte Kennedy and husband Jim of Plain Dealing, LA; stepchildren, Wayne, Pam, Janet and Michael; brothers, Fred, Harold and Horace Morgan; sister, Vernell Staggs as well as, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
