BOSSIER CITY – Sam ‘Sammy ‘Anthony Spataro went to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, June 7, 2013. The family will receive visitors from 5pm – 7pm on Monday, June 10, 2013 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Airline Drive. Services celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 1:30pm in the chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City. Officiating the service will be Father Charles Glorioso and Pastor Brian Reed. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Sammy was born on January 4, 1926 in Bossier City, LA to Cheatum and Amelia Spataro. He owned and operated several well-known restaurants, including The Kick-A-Poo Restaurant, Revana Restaurant, and The Studio Steakhouse. Sammy was an avid LSU fan, and attended numerous football games in Tiger Stadium since the mid 1950’s.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cheatum and Amelia Spataro, brother Bubba Spataro, and loving sister Marie Spataro Means.
He is survived by his daughters, Felicia and husband Tommy Hancock of Benton, LA, Teri Spataro Watkins of Flower Mound, TX, brother T J Spataro of Bossier City, LA., two wonderful grandsons, Trey Watkins of Flower Mound, TX, and Trace Hancock of Benton, LA., and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. allbearers will be Billy Means, Ricky Spataro, Rudy Crain, John LeGrand, Boots Garland, and Rudy Blackburn. Honorary pallbearers are Josh Blackburn and Billy Cannon.
