Business Recovery Centers to assist businesses in the area affected by flooding have been established by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Louisiana Dept. of Economic Development (LED).
State Secretary of Economic Development Don Pierson said no appointment is necessary to meet with center representatives, and all services are provided free of charge. Representatives can answer questions about SBA’s disaster loan program, explain the application process and help individuals complete applications.
“I urge agencies to reach out to the affected businesses and share with them that these Business Recovery Centers are there to help them recover, re-establish their operations and plan for the future,” Pierson said.
Locally, the Business Recovery Center is located at 5400 E. Texas St. in Bossier City at the Knights of Columbus building. The BRC is open Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., Wednesdays from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Business owners may also apply for assistance online by using the SBA secure website, https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela. Information and application forms are also available from the SBA Customer Service Center by calling 800-659-2955 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Completed applications should be mailed to the U.S. Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Rd., Fort Worth, TX, 76155.
Recovery centers and other SBA sites have already approved 233 loans totaling more than $11 million in disaster recovery assistance, Pierson said.
