School board member pleads not guilty to federal charges


Mike Mosura, Bossier Parish School Board district 5 representative, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to distributing illegal steroids.

He, along with Bossier City coupleBrant and Julie Landry, are accused of being associated with a “pill mill” that made and distributed performance-enhancing drugs.┬áMosura is under indictment on one count of conspiring to distribute anabolic steroids.

Mosura entered the plea in U.S. District Court in Shreveport after they were indicted last Wednesday.

The Landrys also pleaded not guilty.

Brent Landry had been held at the Bossier Parish Medium Security Facility since his arrest last week. He was released Tuesday and will be under house arrest pending trial.

Julie Landry is free on bond and on paid leave from Caddo Parish Schools.

Mosura is involved in several local fitness businesses. He is running unopposed for re-election to the board. He has reportedly said he will not resign.
