Sci-Port remains closed until further notice

Due to the floodwater from the Red River, Sci-Port is temporarily closed until further notice.

During this time, Sci-Port will offer programs, demonstrations and traveling exhibits at Pierre Bossier Mall next to Payless Shoes. Hours of operation are MondaySaturday from 10 AM-6 PM and Sunday from 12-6 PM. Donations are appreciated.

Alternate accommodations have been made for Sci-Port summer camp attendees. Camps will be located at the Shreveport Convention Center. Hours of drop-off and pick-up remain the same. Specific camp questions can be directed to Anne Lutz at (318) 424-8697.

Sci-Port President and CEO Ann Fumarolo explains, “In addition to the disappointment that we know our members, visitors, and campers feel right now, closing our business for any amount of time, no matter the reason, negatively affects our bottom line. We are incredibly grateful to everyone that’s helping us, or has offered to help us- Pierre Bossier Mall for allowing us to use space and the Shreveport Convention Center for allowing our campers to use their space.”

Sci-Port will continue to provide updates on the situation through the phone messaging system, website, social media and traditional media outlets. “The first place we will post updates will be on Facebook,” says Fumarolo. “This is the easiest way for us to get the most current information out, regardless of where the staff physically is working at the moment.” Sci-Port is on Facebook at www.facebook.com/sciport.
