Jill Sessions was sworn in as the new Bossier Parish Clerk of Court June 30.

A standing room only crowd filled a Benton courtroom to witness the preceding.  packed courtroom at the Bossier Parish Courthouse. Among the crowd of family and friends were dignitaries from the city, parish and state level.

Sessions succeeds Cindy Johnston, who did not seek re-election. Johnston, a nearly 40-year veteran of the Clerk’s office, announced in 2015 that she would retire at the end of her term in June 2016.

Joining Sessions was her husband, Bubba, son, Wil, and daughter, Olivia.
