Shreveport, Louisiana – We’re just a couple weeks away from the Barksdale Spouses’ Club’s 5th Annual Shamrock Shuffle on Saturday, March 7, 2020, but our next deadline approaches quickly.

To ensure you receive a Shamrock Shuffle t-shirt in your race packet, we ask all runners to sign up before February 23, 2020. This can be done on the Barksdale Spouses’ Club’s website or by clicking here: https://bit.ly/2N0WAfB .

In addition to the t-shirt, all participants will receive free coffee, beignets and a complimentary bar beverage during the post race party at Marilynn’s Place on race day. Not a runner? Sign up as a Sleep In Supporter and receive all of the same benefits as a racer!

The Shamrock Shuffle includes three different race options this year–a Kids Fun Run, a 5K and brand new 10K. The courses will begin and end at Marilynn’s Place, and take runners throughout the Highland neighborhood. The post race party will be held at the restaurant with music, vendors and free activities for the kids provided by sponsors. Food and drinks will be available for purchase by Marilynn’s Place.

The Shamrock Shuffle rounds out the Sweet + Lucky Spring Race Series in conjunction with the King Cake Classic (2/8) and The Pie Run (2/29). Participants in all three races will receive an additional bar beverage at the post race party.

Individuals and groups interested in assisting as a volunteer on race day can sign up to do so here or contact the Shamrock Shuffle Committee at shamrockshuffle.bsc@gmail.com .

The media is invited to attend and watch the runners take to the course. Interviews will be conducted at the start line immediately after the 5K/10K races begin. Please contact Amy Smith to set up any preview interviews at (985)259-0951 or shamrockshuffle.bsc@gmail.com .

About BSC The Barksdale Spouses Club is a private, non-profit organization for spouses at Barksdale Air Force Base. Our mission is to create a supportive, comfortable arena for our members to explore social connections and volunteerism. The BSC scholarship program was established to assist military families with the financial challenges associated with pursuing a college education. This program hopes to encourage and assist military spouses and children in the Barksdale community who are working toward their educational goals. The BSC awarded more than $20,000 in scholarships in 2019, and hope to increase that in 2020.
