Sheriff Whittington promotes deputy

Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington promoted a deputy to the rank of lieutenant in a ceremony Monday morning in the Sheriff’s conference room in the Bossier Parish Courthouse.

Sgt. Eric Wikstrom was promoted to the rank of lieutenant after 12 years of service in the Sheriff’s Office. Now Lt. Wikstrom started his law enforcement career working in the  Corrections Division for one year. From there Lt. Wikstrom’s held several positions throughout the patrol division. He has worked as a K-9 handler, criminal patrol, the narcotics office, S.W.A.T., and now he will serve as the swing shift patrol lieutenant.

Sheriff Whittington said, “I have watched you throughout your career here and you’ve consistently displayed excellent work ethics and leadership in every job you’ve held in the sheriff’s office, and I’m honored to promote you to the rank of lieutenant. Keep up the excellent work.”
