Sheriff Whittington to honor military veterans

Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington will be honoring members of the Bossier Sheriff’s Office who have served our nation in the military with videos on the BSO’s Facebook page.

“We are honored to have members of all branches of the armed forces serving as deputies, staff and volunteers with our Posse and Reserve.  I salute them for their service to our country and community,” said Sheriff Whittington.  “These men and women have answered the call to defend our nation and sacrificed a lot so that we can live in freedom.”

Beginning Nov. 3, the Bossier Sheriff’s Office will post photos of Sheriff’s Office members who also served in the military at  The first photo posted will be a picture of the veteran when they were on active duty in uniform. The public is encouraged to join us in guessing who they think the individual is in the photo.  The following day, the photo will be reposted along with a current photo of them in their capacity with the Sheriff’s Office and a brief write-up of their military and law enforcement service.

“We are proud of our veterans who serve at the Bossier Sheriff’s Office,” said Sheriff Whittington.  “Take time to say thank you.”

Sheriff Whittington has also produced a Veterans Day video message which you can view at
