Shooting leaves woman with life-threatening injury

Bossier City police are investigating a shooting Monday night that left a woman with a life-threatening injury.

Bossier City police responded to a call in reference to a woman who was shouting for help in the 1500 block of Doctors Drive at approximately 9:40 p.m. Officers reported finding Sarah Aislinn Kersh, 33, of Bossier City, with a gunshot wound to her lower right side.

The woman was taken University Health in Shreveport with a potentially life threatening wound. She is expected to survive and remains at the hospital this morning.

Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit are continuing the investigation into the incident in an effort to determine the events that lead to the shooting.
