A new flight to Nashville, along with additional departures to several of the nine non-stop
destinations from Shreveport Regional Airport (SHV), helped make this summer at SHV the
busiest since 1981.

The traditional summer travel season is May through August and this year 307,597 people
traveled through SHV, which was an increase of 19% from last year’s passenger numbers.
The new Nashville non-stop flight was very popular with more than 5,400 passengers
taking the flight in the three months it operated this summer. Along with Destin and
Orlando, non-stop flights to Nashville will be back next summer. Tickets for Allegiant’s
seasonal routes to Nashville, Destin, and Orlando will be on sale by the end of the year.

“We are excited the new non-stop flight to Nashville on Allegiant was so popular with
residents of the Ark-La-Tex this summer. We are even more excited that Allegiant is
bringing the flight back next summer,” said Larry Blackwell, Director of Airports for the
Shreveport Airport Authority.

August marks the 32nd consecutive month of increased passenger activity at SHV. To date,
541,739 passengers have used Shreveport Regional Airport since January, which is 78,810
more passengers this year and an increase of 17% over the same time in 2024. This year
was also the fourth busiest summer ever since Shreveport Regional Airport opened in
1952.
