Soccer: Parkway girls get big win; Bossier, Haughton, Benton post victories

The Parkway Lady Panthers handed the Caddo Magnet Lady Mustangs their first district loss 2-1 in overtime Monday night at Cargill Park.

Mackenzie Kleinpeter scored both goals for the Lady Panthers (9-5-2, 7-2 District 1-I). Elizabeth Knight had an assist. Caddo Magnet dropped to 5-5 and 5-1.

Also at Cargill, Benton swept Northwood in boys and girls District 1-II games. The boys swept a doubleheader, 3-1 and 3-0, and the girls won 10-0.

Dillon Rogers scored two goals for the Tigers (13-2, 3-0) in the 3-1 win. Edwin Lopez scored a goal, and Tyler McComon had an assist. Rogers had a hat trick in the 3-0 win. Ethan Parks assisted on all three goals.

Hannah Easter, Abby Lauterbach and Shelby Plunkett scored two goals apiece for the Lady Tigers (8-5, 3-1). Kirsten Basco, Jenny Cox, Piper Flood and Savanna Sedberry all scored one.

In District 1-I boys action at Tinsley Park, Benny Broadway had a hat trick as Haughton (6-7, 3-4) knocked off Southwood 4-1. Benny’s brother, Nico, also scored.

The Bossier boys picked up their second win over the season, 5-2, over North Caddo at Vivian. Baha Abdelrahim scored two goals for the Bearkats (2-8, 1-1 District 1-III). Hunter Courtney and Uriel Salazar had one goal each. Alexis Galvan scored one goal and had three assists.

North Caddo won the girls game 4-0.
