Softball: Airline, Parkway win 1-5A games; Bossier downs Plain Dealing

The Airline Lady Vikings and Parkway Lady Panthers remained undefeated in District 1-5A softball play Thursday night.

Airline rolled past Southwood 15-0 in three innings at Airline, and Parkway downed Captain Shreve 5-1 at Shreve.

In another District 1-5A game, Haughton fell to Evangel Christian 3-0 at home.

In a non-district game earlier this week, Bossier defeated Plain Dealing 16-3.

At Airline, the Lady Vikings improved to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in 1-5A.

Maddie Ennis went 3-for-3 with a double and five RBI. Jamie Roberts had three hits, including a double, and three RBI.

Olivia Broussard and Melissa Gillenwater had a single and two RBI each. Gillenwater allowed only one hit in three innings. Kaitlyn Walker and Kourtnee White also had hits.

Kaylee Adams and Brittany Nelson both walked twice.

At Shreve, Parkway improved to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in 1-5A.

Samantha Guile continued her outstanding start to the season, allowing just four hits and striking out 12. Se also had two hits and an RBI.

Kendall Lewis went 2-for-4. Madelyn Elliott, Brittany Bryant, Rebecca Lynch and Allie Hunt all had singles.

At Haughton,Lacey Dodson and Lauren Edwards had hits in Haughton’s loss. The Lady Bucs dropped to 4-3 overall and 1-2 in 1-5A.

At Rusheon, winning pitcher Bailey Phillips went 2-for-3 with an inside-the-par home run to lead Bossier. Shanna Baker also had a home run. Asya Walker went 2-for-3 with a triple. Marraina Howard had single.

Bossier defeated Plain Dealing 16-3 in a 2 inning game.
