The Parkway Lady Panthers remained undefeated in District 1-5A with a 4-3 victory over defending champion Byrd Thursday at Parkway.
Parkway improved to 9-4 overall and 5-0 in 1-5A. Byrd dropped to 4-8 and 3-2.
Airline’s scheduled game against Captain Shreve was postponed because of rain. The Lady Vikings are in second place at 3-1. Evangel, which edged Airline 8-7 Wednesday, is tied for third with Byrd at 3-2.
Parkway led 3-1 after six innings, but Byrd scored two unearned runs in the top of the seventh to tie it. The Lady Panthers then pushed across a run in the bottom of the inning to win it.
Kendall Lewis led off with a triple to right field and scored on Madelyn Elliott’s single.
Parkway took a 3-0 lead in the third.
Abbie Norcross and Lewis led off the inning with back-to-back walks Hannah Kennady’s sacrifice moved them to second and third. Norcross scored on an error and Lewis advanced to third.
Rebecca Lynch’s single to right field scored Lewis and Elliott came home on the play.
Samantha Guile struck out nine and allowed no earned runs in picking up the win.
Bossier split a home doubleheader against Arcadia Wednesday night. The Lady Kats won the first game 21-14 and lost the second 12-2.
Bailey Phillips got the win in Game 1. Marraina Howard went 2-for-2. Shanna Baker had a triple.
