BOSSIER CITY — Memorial services celebrating the life of Sonja Kay Faltynowicz (nee Henrikson) will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, January 24, 2014 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel at in Bossier City, LA 71101. Officiating will be Bro. Jim Gstohl. The family will hold a visitation after the service.
Sonja passed away January 12, 2014, at Promise Hospital in Bossier City, Louisiana. She was born May 10, 1939. Preceding her in death were her parents, Adolph and Doris Henrikson, her older sister Donna Hayden, and brother-in-law, Henry Hayden, all of Wisconsin.
Sonja is survived by her brother, Alan Henrikson, sister-in-law, Nancy Henrikson, nephews, Michael Hayden (Gaylen), Steven Hayden (Laurie), and Fred Hayden (Yong Cha); and nieces, Heidi Hayden and Sarah Newcomb (Matthew).
Sonja was a grade school teacher in Wisconsin, a Physical Pulmonary Therapist in Sturgis, South Dakota, and a Realtor in the Bossier City/Shreveport area. After retiring, Sonja devoted her life in several community organizations. Most recently she spent time making flower arrangements and providing direct patient care for Amedisys Hospice patients in Shreveport.
Sonja leaves behind her family and many friends. She will be missed by all.
