Special Olympic NW Area Horseshoe Competition

The 2013 Middle & High Schools Horseshoe Competition will be host to 150 Middle and High School Special Olympic Athletes Friday, September 13.

These athletes will qualify to attend the State Fall Classic which will be held in Lafayette, October 19-21.

Registration for the event is 8:30-9:30 a.m. and the competition begins at 9:45 a.m. It will be located at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 2239, 9113 Industrial Rd. Shreveport.

Approximately 150 Athletes will compete in a round robin form of Horseshoe completion and we encourage all community members, family and media to attend. All sporting competitions are free and open to the public.

Special Olympics Louisiana (SOLA) is a state-wide, 501© 3 Non-profit organization, that changes lives by promoting understanding, acceptance and inclusion between people with and without intellectual disabilities. SOLA offers year-round programs for 13,500 children and adults with intellectual disabilities in all 64 parishes with the help of 14,000 volunteers. Health, education, leadership, family, training and sports programs are available for people beginning at age 2 and there is no upper age limit.

There is no cost to participate in Special Olympics.
