Staff will take part in Haughton Adventure Weekend

On Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Haughton Library will participate in the Haughton Adventure Weekend outdoor festival in the Haughton High School parking lot.

Branch manager Audra Bartholomew and her staff will be there handing out giveaways, so be sure to stop by the library booth. There will be games, drawings, pony rides, and so much more.  It will be a fun day for everyone. Bring your family and friends for a great time outdoors.

The Bossier Central Children’s Library has a new look.  Children’s librarian Jessica McCart said, “We worked hard to give the Kids Zone reading area a face lift that will hopefully draw people in and make them want to stay and read.” She and her staff did the painting themselves using bold colors that tie in with the Dr. Seuss theme.  Stop by and try out the lime green curvy couch or one of the colorful bean bag chairs.  Step inside the Dr. Seuss house where you can see a thing or two.  It is a happy space filled with lots of fun things to do.

Make a note:

  • Plan ahead for Saturday, May 10, and Book it to the Bossier Libraries Expo at the Bossier Central Library, from 1-4 p.m. at the Bossier Central Library, 2206 Beckett St., Bossier City.
  • The Summer Reading Programs are coming soon.  “Fizz, Boom, READ at the Bossier Parish Libraries” is June 2 through Aug. 1. There will be Children’s, Young Adults and Adult programs offered.  More information about the Summer Reading Program is on the way.
