BOSSIER CITY – Services for Sterling W. Chandler, Sr. will be 1 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2013 at St. George’s Episcopal Church, with the Very Rev. James E. Flowers, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery, Friendship, LA with United States Air Force honors. Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2013 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Bossier City, LA.
Mr. Chandler was born July 16, 1924 in Clarksville, VA and died October 14, 2013 in Shreveport, LA. After retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force, he worked for and retired from the City of Shreveport as Assistant Superintendent of Streets and Drainage. He was a member of the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Posse, Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite.
His wife, Dianne Walsworth Chandler and his parents preceded him in death.
Mr. Chandler is survived by his sons, Sterling W. Chandler, Jr. of Palm Springs, CA and Jeffrey W. Chandler of Bossier City, LA; sister, Laura of Durham, NC; brothers, Jessie Chandler and Carl Chandler both of Clarksville, VA and special friend, Alice Hill of Concord, NC.
Serving as pallbearers will be members of the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Posse.
