The Airline Vikings and Haughton Buccaneers swept freshman and junior varsity football games Monday.
Airline defeated Captain Shreve 18-0 in the freshman game and 20-12 in the JV game. Haughton downed Southwood 34-0 in the freshman game and 20-0 in the JV game.
At Captain Shreve, Alex Garcia threw two touchdown passes to Jordan Boyd and ran for one in the Vikings’ freshman win. He also scored a rushing touchdown.
Mahki Tanner recovered two fumbles. Tito Wimberly and Coby Thomas recovered one each.
Kyle McConathy and Thomas Williams ran for touchdowns in the JV victory. Kevin Pouncy caught a touchdown pass from Richard Williams.
The defense forced numerous turnovers. Drae Robinson forced a fumble on the goalline to prevent a touchdown.
At Haughton, Peyton Stovall threw TD passes to Gage East, Elijah Rochon and Jack Edwards in the Bucs’ freshman victory. He also scored a rushing touchdown.
Timothy Sult scored a rushing TD.
Kason Formby had an interception. Jake St. Andre recovered a fumble.
Alexander Morris passed for one touchdown and ran for another in the Bucs’ JV victory.
Morris scored the first touchdown on a 3-yard run on fourth-and-goal. He also threw a 49-yard TD pass to Hunter Jenkins in the first half.
Derion Phil went in from a yard out in the second half.
Jackson Harlan recovered a fumble.
