Suspect arrested in shooting that leaves teen injured

Bossier City police arrested a teenager overnight in connection with an attempted armed robbery and shooting that left another teen injured.

Laterreon Morrison, 17, of Bossier City was arrested on charges of attempted armed robbery with a firearm and aggravated battery after police responded to a shooting Saturday at approximately 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Traffic Street and Wyche Street.

The shooting victim, a 16-year old male, tells police that he was walking with his brother when they were confronted by three male subjects, one of whom attempted to rob them. When the two brothers ran away, one of the subjects – later identified as Morrison- fire multiple gunshots at them. One of the rounds struck the 16-year old in the shoulder resulting in what appeared to be a superficial, non-life threatening wound. The victim and his brother continued to run to their home two blocks away where officers later made contact with them.

Bossier City Fire Department personnel transported the victim to University Health in Shreveport for treatment.

Detectives working with the Armed Robbery Task Force responded and were able to develop Morrison as a suspect. They took him into custody several hours later and booked him into the Bossier City Jail. Morrison was subsequently transferred to the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility.

The investigation into the incident continues. The name of the 16-year old victim is not being release since he is a juvenile.
