Suspect wanted for home improvement fraud

Travis Michael PorterThe Bossier Financial Crimes Task Force is asking the public for help in locating a man wanted on a charge of home improvement fraud.

Travis Michael Porter, 28, is accused of accepting payment of more than $30,000 for home improvement work that he never completed. Porter skipped out of the job after the victim had entered into a signed contract with him to do finishing work on a swimming pool.

Porter is a white male, approximately 6’ tall and weighs about 170 pounds. Anyone who can help police locate him is asked to call Bossier Crime Stoppers at (318) 424-4100. Callers to Crime Stoppers are reminded they may remain totally anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

The Bossier Financial Crimes Task Force is composed of white collar crime investigators with the Bossier City Police Department and Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office. Bossier City Chief of Police Shane McWilliams and Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian Whittington formed the task force by combining resources from both agencies to combat crimes such as identity theft, fraud and embezzlement with the city and parish.
