Officers arrested Michael David Linn, 39, of Shreveport for simple burglary and theft after they were called to a home in the 500 block of Adair Street by neighbors who reported seeing people taking things from the home.

When officers arrived they saw a man and woman outside the home who informed officers that Linn had asked them to help him clean out the home per the homeowner.  Police then made contact with Linn who was inside the home.

Officers later learned that the homeowner, who had been temporarily been living at another location, did not know Linn nor had she given him permission to take anything.

Linn was subsequently taken into custody and arrested. During the investigation officers also learned that Linn had burglarized the home a few days prior and also took a vehicle that had been parked in the driveway. Officers were able to recover most of the stolen property along with the vehicle at a home on Olive Street in Bossier City where Linn had been residing.

Linn was booked into the Bossier City Jail. The man and woman who assisted Linn with removing property from the home on Sunday were not charged after officers determined that they were unaware that Linn did not have permission to take anything.
