RUSTON — After helping Louisiana Tech go a perfect 3-0, Tiffani Nash was named Conference USA Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week in an announcement by the league office on Wednesday.
LA Tech extended its winning streak to four matches after winning at in-state rival ULM, 4-0, followed by a home doubleheader sweep of UAB (4-1) and Grambling State (7-0).
Nash won all three of her singles matches, dropping only two total games in six sets. The senior won 6-0, 6-0 against the Warhawks as well as a pair of 6-0, 6-1 victories versus the Blazers and Tigers while playing at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions. The Bossier City native also teamed up with Valentina Vasquez to claim the doubles point at ULM, winning 6-3 on court two.
Nash improved to 13-4 in dual singles this spring, having won nine of her last 10 completed matches.
This is the first ever CUSA weekly honor for Nash. She becomes the fourth Bulldog this season, joining teammates Alexia Romero, Ana Rodrigues, and Olga Bienzobas, to receive this award.
Nash and the Bulldogs close out the regular season this weekend with road matches at Kansas State and No. 68 Wichita State.
