Over the Thanksgiving holiday, BCPD says: “CLICK IT OR TICKET”

From The Bossier City Police Department:

The Bossier City Police Department will join law enforcement agencies across Louisiana and the nation next week in participating the seatbelt enforcement campaign “Click It or Ticket” sponsored by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission in conjunction with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

During the campaign, which covers the Thanksgiving holiday, the BCPD will be stepping up seatbelt and child safety restraint enforcement in an effort to increase seatbelt usage and save lives.

According to the latest numbers from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, seat belt use in passenger vehicles saved an estimated 13,941 lives in 2015. While not all crashes are survivable, seatbelts can greatly decrease an occupant’s chance of death and reduce the extent of injury.

“Click It or Ticket” runs from Sunday, November 19 until Sunday, November 26. The Bossier City Police Department’s participation in the initiative is funded with federal grant money distributed through the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
