Baton Rouge, Louisiana— End Abortion Now, in partnership with Action for Life, are forwarding legislation in Louisiana to establish equal protection for preborn children and will hold an event to rally in support of two historic bills at the capitol in Baton Rouge on April 30th at 10 AM.

Rep. Danny McCormick (R) serves as sponsor of “The Abolition of Abortion in Louisiana Act” (HB813), as well as “Defy Roe” (HB344). Together, this legislation declares that the state of Louisiana and members of the General Assembly are obligated to use their authority, as consistent with the United States Constitution, to nullify the opinions of the Supreme Court of the United States in Roe v. Wade, thereby protecting preborn babies from murder.

“While it may seem drastic at first to defy the Roe v. Wade decision, history has already set precedence for this”, said Representative McCormick. “Here in Louisiana, we have already defied federal law by legalizing medical marijuana. If we can defy the federal government over marijuana, we can do it to save the lives of innocent babies. My legislation will provide our state the chance to serve as a catalyst for the rest of America when it comes to ending abortion once and for all.”

“The Word of God demands that our laws reflect His standards of justice. This legislation builds on the fundamental Pro-Life premise that life begins at conception, applying justice equally to all human beings in Louisiana”, said Jeff Durbin, Founder of End Abortion Now and Pastor at Apologia Church.
