The Bossier City Police Department is investigating a domestic violence incident
that occurred on September 14, 2025, at approximately 12:30 pm at a residence in
the 5200 block of Venecia Dr.

Officers responded to a “welfare check” after receiving information from concerned
family members that a male subject reported that he had done something bad to
his wife and was having thoughts of harming himself. Upon arrival, officers
discovered the subject had barricaded himself inside the residence. During the
course of the investigation, two officers were injured and transported to a local
medical facility for non-life-threatening injuries. A short time later, a suspect was
taken into custody and transported to a local medical facility.

This incident is being investigated, and more information will be released as it
becomes available.

In accordance with responsible reporting on domestic violence, the focus is on the
victim and the pattern of abuse, not on the act itself or the perpetrator’s motives.

This tragedy highlights the serious and often escalating nature of domestic
violence. Such incidents are not isolated events but are part of a broader pattern of
controlling and abusive behavior. Domestic violence thrives in silence, and
community awareness is crucial for prevention.
