Get ready to feel the wind in your face and experience the thrill of the race at the sixth annual BPCC 100, presented by Capital One Bank and the BPCC Foundation.
The race returns Saturday, April 25, to the campus of Bossier Parish Community College after a year away.
Beginning at 8 a.m. There will be fast-paced mini go-kart races every 20 minutes on the track, next to the BPCC gymnasium. The event is free to the public and is fun for the entire family.
Local businesses/organizations-sponsored race teams in customized go-karts zip around a race track competing for trophies and bragging rights. Teams also compete for prizes in various categories, such as: Fan Favorite, Best Looking Car; Best Dressed Pit Crew and Fastest Pit Crew.
Event chairman is Tom Glass and Billy Wayne Montgomery will serve as the Grand Marshal.
This annual event raises money to help support the student scholarship fund at BPCC. Since its inception, the BPCC100 annual event has raised more than $200,000 to support students who could not receive financial aid or would have found it difficult to pay for a college education.
The BPCC Foundation has awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships to BPCC students throughout the past 17 years.
In addition to the car races, there are multiple food vendors at the Brookshire’s Food Court and a children’s play area: Kids Pit Stop – sponsored by The Simple Church. There will also be a Custom Car Show and Louisiana Tech University will bring its Eco-car.
Who will take home the coveted Capital One sponsor’s cup, the fan favorite award and the Johnny Wyatt Memorial Cup? You’ll have to be there to find out!
