The Brine, a new contemporary Southern restaurant at the Louisiana Boardwalk, will celebrate its grand
opening Friday, October 2, from noon to 5 p.m. Located along the riverfront and connected to The Picklr Bossier City, The Brine brings
dining, cocktails and a family-friendly gathering space to the growing mix of recreation and entertainment at the Boardwalk.
The Brine features Chef Gabriel Balderas, chef and owner of Zuzul Coastal Cuisine and El Cabo Verde in Shreveport and Papalotl in
Oaxaca, Mexico, where he was born.
The menu focuses on contemporary Southern cuisine with an emphasis on thoughtfully sourced ingredients. Produce and vegetables
from Balderas’ own Nourishing Farms in northwest Louisiana will be incorporated throughout the menu, alongside other locally and
regionally sourced ingredients.
The Brine also features a full bar program with house-crafted cocktails, fresh ingredients and a full espresso program.
“The Boardwalk is such a unique setting for our area,” Balderas said. “You have the river, the bridge and so much happening around
you. We want The Brine to be a place where people can come for great food and drinks, but also stay awhile and enjoy everything the
Boardwalk has to offer.”
That experience extends beyond the restaurant. The restored Louisiana Boardwalk carousel will reopen with concessions, creating an
added experience for families. Guests can grab dinner and drinks from The Brine and head to the carousel, where kids can ride and
enjoy concessions nearby.

he Brine will also host live music, movie nights and other community events throughout the year.
