On Friday, March 14, the community gathered in celebration as The Market at Cumberland | Coffee House opened its doors at 315 Montgomery St., Bossier City. More than just a coffee shop, this new faith-driven establishment is a mission, built on the foundation of God’s love, generosity, and service to others.
Rooted in the biblical call to serve and uplift one another, The Market at Cumberland operates on a pay-what-you-can model, ensuring that everyone—regardless of financial status—has a place at the table. Inspired by Matthew 25:35 (“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat…”), the café invites guests to experience the love of Christ through fellowship, generosity, and a warm meal.
Rather than traditional pricing, guests are encouraged to:
Pay what they can afford.
Pay what they would typically pay.
Pay what they would typically pay, plus a little extra to help a neighbor in need.
“This isn’t just about coffee—it’s about serving as the hands and feet of Jesus,” said a representative from Cumberland Farms. “We believe in the power of faith to transform lives, and we trust God will provide through the generosity of His people.”
To sustain this mission, volunteers are needed. Whether experienced in making coffee or simply willing to serve with a joyful heart, anyone can be part of this ministry. Those feeling called to help can sign up at www.CumberlandFarms.us/Serve.
The Market at Cumberland is more than a café—it is a place where faith meets action, strangers become family, and God’s love is shared one cup at a time.
