PLAIN DEALING – Graveside services for Mrs. Thelma Strayhan Brandao, 95, will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 1:00 pm in Cottage Grove Memorial Cemetery with Monsignor Carson LaCaze officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Plain Dealing, LA.
Family will be receiving friends beginning Saturday at 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Cottage Grove Presbyterian Church, Plain Dealing, LA.
Mrs. Brandao was born July 3, 1918 in Plain Dealing, LA to James Frank and Mary Ellen Heath Strayhan and passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014. She was a lifelong resident of this area, a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Bossier City, LA and had worked as a secretary for Doles Insurance Agency.
She is survived by her children, Edward Brandao and wife, Rebecca of New Orleans, LA, Stephen Brandao and wife, Patsy of Plain Dealing, LA, Joan Powell and husband, Ronnie of Plain Dealing, LA, Gene Brandao and wife, Jana of Little Rock, AR; eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; brother, Jim Strayhan and wife, Carolyn of Plain Dealing, LA; sister, Betty Murphy of CA and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Brandao was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Brandao; son, Jerry Brandao; three sisters and one brother.
Honoring her as pallbearers will be her grandson.
