The Bossier Sheriff’s Office needs the public’s help in identifying a shoplifter who swiped fabric softener…yes, fabric softener…from a store in Haughton a few days ago.
Just before 8 p.m. on Oct.1, an employee at the Family Dollar store located in the 4600 block of Highway 80 in Haughton saw a man stuff fabric softener bottles into his pants and shower curtains under his jacket. When the employee approached the suspect, the man fled out of the store with $18.75 worth of fabric softener and a shower curtain. The employee says the suspect got in a silver Ford Mustang or similar model vehicle that possibly turned into the Forest Hills subdivision after leaving the store parking lot.
While it appears the suspect may have made his “clean” getaway, surveillance video at the store can “wash” away his anonymity.
Bossier Sheriff’s detectives describe the suspect as a black male, possibly in his late 20’s or early 30’s, standing approximately 6’ tall with a slender build. He has shoulder length or longer hair with a goatee and mustache and was wearing white pants and a tan suit jacket.
Anyone with information about the identity of this thief or about this case is asked to contact Bossier Crime Stoppers at (318) 424-4100.
