Three arrested in Benton home invasion, kidnapping

Two adults and one male teen were arrested this afternoon for kidnapping a 17-year-old male late last night and committing a home invasion and burglary at his residence.

Nicholas Gary, 19, of 400 block of Thompson St. in Bossier City, and Christopher Windmann, 19, of the 5000 block of Sweetwater Dr. in Benton, were each charged with 2nd degree kidnapping, home invasion, aggravated burglary and unlawful use of body armor.  The 16-year-old teen was charged with 2nd degree kidnapping, home invasion and aggravated burglary.

Bossier Sheriff’s Office detectives were called around 3 a.m. Wednesday to the residence on Twin Lake Dr. in Benton to begin their investigation.  They determined that sometime late Tuesday night, the arrestees took a 17-year-old male from the residence in Benton to a Shreveport location under false pretense, where they held him against his will and beat him – Shreveport Police Department also has charges.

Sometime after midnight, the suspects took the victim back to his Benton residence and entered the residence armed with a rifle and wearing body armor, where they confronted and threatened the victim’s parents.  Soon after, they stole several items from the residence and fled.  The victim was transported to University Health in Shreveport for treatment.

The suspects and victim are acquaintances, and detectives believe the crime is drug-related.  More arrests are expected.
