Cue the confetti, because Bossier Schools has three reasons to celebrate!

Bossier Parish High School Teacher of the Year Gabe Gafford has advanced as State
Semifinalist in the 2022-23 Teacher of the Year competition. The Benton High School Tiger
will be honored in July at an awards gala in Baton Rouge.

Parkway High’s Rachel Ryan is in her first year of teaching and has been chosen as a State
Finalist for Louisiana’s New Teacher of the Year program that recognizes exceptional new
educators.

And Camelita Alexander, who is a Coordinator in Bossier Schools’ Special Education
Department, has been selected as a Semifinalist for Louisiana’s School Health Service
Provider of the Year.

We applaud these three difference makers and wish them luck as they move to the next
levels of competition.
