“We couldn’t be happier to host these two teams in October in Bossier City at the CenturyLink Center,” Don “Bubba” Williams, Bossier City Councilman and SB Sports Commissioner. said. “It not only provides a great event for our local citizens to attend but will also bring thousands of sports enthusiasts from other parts of Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas.
“When we first met with the Pelicans about hosting the game we knew we wanted it and so we fought hard to bring it here even though other cities were very interested in hosting this key preseason matchup,” said Kelly Wells, vice-president of the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission.  “It was also very important to the Pelican’s ownership to keep the game in Louisiana and they are thrilled to have it in Bossier City.Â
“I have already felt the excitement from the local community and fans from across Louisiana and East Texas of showcasing two of the most popular NBA teams in our region. It is important for our communities and the Ark-La-Tex to support this event wholeheartedly and our partners have gotten behind us to help make it happen. With tickets starting at only $12.00, we wanted to ensure that this event was affordable and accessible for the entire community.
The game at CenturyLink Center is the final preseason game for both teams.Â
“The CenturyLink Center is thrilled to add this NBA preseason matchup to our roster of first-rate entertainment events for 2014, said Jake Wood, director of Sales and Marketing for CenturyLink Center. “Hosting two professional level sports teams that have such a large mutual fan base in our region is very exciting. The support from our area will certainly serve as a testament to the brimming enthusiasm for sports that we all share in the Ark-La-Tex.” –
