Cypress Baptist Church in Benton had a very special guest in attendance on Sunday morning April 10, as football star and media personality Tim Tebow delivered a riveting message about his faith, its significance in his life and how through all of his success, he has remained strong and faithful to God.
“What a privilege it has been for Cypress Baptist to host Tim Tebow and bring him to Bossier Parish. Tim lives in the public with the love and grace of Jesus. His message was powerful and to see so many people respond was amazing. We all have a purpose and that purpose starts with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ,” said John Fream, Pastor of Cypress Baptist Church.
Tebow is a former American professional baseball player, a former professional football player, three-time New York Times best-selling author, an international speaker, an ESPN sports broadcaster and the founder of Night to Shine.
He played his college football for the University of Florida. And in 2007, he became the first player in college football history to win the Heisman Trophy as a sophomore. Tebow is also a two-time BCS National College Football Champion.
In the NFL, Tebow played for the Denver Broncos, the New York Jets, the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles. Most recently, he played baseball as an outfielder and designated hitter for the New York Mets MLB team.
It was announced in February 2021 that Tebow decided to retire from professional baseball. He joined the Mets in 2016.
