SHREVEPORT, LA – The American Rose Center will begin having “Train Days In The Gardens” on Thursday, June 2, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Every other Thursday, families are invited to come out and let their children ride our replica steam engine unlimited times for $5.

“Train Days will be a great time for families to come enjoy our train, gardens and 118-acre nature setting,” said Laura Seabaugh, executive director of the American Rose Society. “They can pack a picnic lunch, ride the train, play in our playground, and explore. It’s a great new Shreveport-Bossier family activity for the summer!”

Families are invited to stroll the gardens and enjoy numerous amenities including a picnic area, a playground, a large covered pavilion, and of course all the sunshine and fresh air you can handle. Children will be given a bracelet that will allow unlimited rides on the child-sized Roseland Express train. Children under 5 years old must be accompanied by an adult on the train.

The American Rose Center, located at 8877 Jefferson Paige Road in Shreveport, LA, is open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is by donation. The train will run on the following dates from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. June 2, 16, 30, July 14, 28 & August 11, 25, 2016.
