Tornado hits Plain Dealing home

The Bossier Sheriff’s Office reports that an apparent tornado touched down and damaged a house at the 100 block of Buckshot Road in the northwest portion of the parish around 3:15 a.m. Monday, just minutes after being advised of a tornado warning in the area from the National Weather Service.

Initial reports were that a boy was injured, but deputies confirm the man and his two sons who live at the residence are okay, while the house has sustained extensive damage.

Buckshot Road is located about six miles west of Plain Dealing in a rural area just north of Highway 2 near the Red River.

Deputies have been on the scene to assess the situation and have found trees down in the roadways and on some houses throughout the area.  Deputies are also searching other residences in the area to check on the well-being of residents and are reporting no injuries.
