Northwest Louisiana citizens are invited to participate in a tourism town hall meeting hosted by Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium (705 Elvis Presley Ave. in Shreveport) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Jay_DardenneThe purpose of the meeting is to solicit input from the community about the area’s tourism industry and its growth potential, opportunities for economic development and infrastructure improvement. Citizens are asked to share their thoughts, ideas and vision for the area’s tourism industry.

Information gathered at the meeting will be used to compile a report to guide Louisiana’s tourism industry in continuing its recent record-breaking impact on the state and to identify how the Louisiana Office of Tourism can provide a partnership for success.

Lt. Gov. Dardenne will host two additional town hall meetings this fall, first in Lafayette Oct. 15, then in Monroe Oct. 28.
