Track and Field: Benton’s Davis, BPCC’s Wilson earn All-America honors at Junior Olympic meet

Benton senior Taylor Davis and BPCC freshman Xavier Wilson earned All-America honors at the USATF Hershey National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships last week in Greensboro, N.C.

Davis, competing for SPAR Track, finished fourth in the women’s 17-18 high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 5 inches. Jelena Rowe of Nevada won with a 5-10 3/4.

Davis is the two-time defending Class 4A state champion in the event.

Morris, a May graduate of Airline, ran the second leg on the River Cities Track Club’s fifth-place team in the 4X800-meter relay.

RCTC ran an 8:05.58. Menlo Greyhounds Track of California won in 7:43.75.
