Two arrested for underage alcohol sales


Agents with the Bossier Sheriff-Police Narcotics Task Force checked 16 businesses throughout Bossier Parish this week for alcohol sales to persons under the age of 21, resulting in two arrests and compliance from 14 others.

These are the two stores not in compliance with the law where clerks did sell alcohol to underage buyers on Sept. 22 – 23 and charged with Unlawful Sales to Persons under 21:

  • Willow Chute in Benton (Clerk cited:  Carroll Kimberly, 24)
  • Red Point in Haughton (Clerk cited:  Rodney Champion, 58)

These are the 14 stores in compliance with the law that did not sell alcohol to underage buyers:

  • Outpost Travel Center (Plain Dealing)
  • One Stop (Plain Dealing)
  • Phillips 66 (Plain Dealing)
  • Kwik Pak (Plain Dealing)
  • Country Corner (Benton)
  • Valero (Industrial Dr. in Bossier City)
  • Tiger Mart (Industrial Dr. in Bossier City)
  • Mobil (Industrial Dr. in Bossier City)
  • Gold Mine (E. Texas in Bossier City)
  • Raceway (E. Texas in Bossier City)
  • Dixie Mart (Dogwood Dr. in Haughton)
  • Kings Corner (Hwy. 80 in Haughton)
  • Haughton Country Store (Hwy. 157 in Haughton)
  • Rogers Corner Store (Hwy. 80 in Haughton)

“We will continue to crack down on the selling of alcohol to underage buyers,” said Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington.  “Our goal is 100% compliance with the law, and we will hold businesses and clerks accountable who don’t comply.”

The Bossier Sheriff-Police Narcotics Task Force comprises deputies with the Bossier Sheriff’s Office and officers with the Bossier City Police Department.
