Bossier City police arrested two teenagers for their involvement in the armed robbery of a local restaurant Monday night.
Bethany Kenndall, 18, of Haughton, and Brock Benoit, 18, of Bossier City, were arrested overnight on charges of armed robbery with a firearm. The robbery happened around 8:30 p.m. at the Subway restaurant in the 100 block of Benton Spur Road.
Witnesses tell police a subject, later identified as Kendall, walked inside the restaurant and demanded money from a cashier. Kendall then ran out of the restaurant with an undisclosed amount of cash and got away in a Ford Expedition with Benoit behind the wheel.
Two Bossier City officers on patrol nearby at the time of the robbery saw the call come over the computer inside their cruiser and immediately responded. The officers arrived just minutes after the suspects had left the scene and were given a description of their vehicle and direction of travel by witnesses. The officers immediately relayed that information to other officers over their police radio.
Police caught up to the suspect vehicle just a few minutes later at the intersection of East Texas Street and Airline Drive and initiated a traffic stop. Kendall and Benoit were taken into custody for questioning along with two other males, ages 17 and 18, who were also in the vehicle.
Kendall and Benoit were later booked into the Bossier City Jail. The two other occupants of the vehicle were not charged as an investigation determined they were not aware that Kendall and Benoit intended to commit the robbery.
Kendall was also charged with a second count of armed robbery with a firearm for holding up the Circle K store in the 4100 block of Airline Drive just before 1 a.m. on Monday.
Benoit was also booked for having an outstanding warrant from the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office.
