ULL seeded 6th, LSU 8th in NCAA Baseball Tournament

The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns and LSU Tigers are seeded sixth and eighth, respectively, in the NCAA Baseball Tournament. Both will be hosting regionals beginning Friday.

Coming off its 11th SEC Tournament crown and fifth in seven seasons, LSU will play host to Southeastern Louisiana in the opening game of its regional at 2 p.m. Friday.

The University of Houston and Bryant University will meet in
Game 2 at 7 p.m.

Riding an eight-game winning streak into NCAA postseason play, LSU (44-14-1) improved its position dramatically over the past three weeks. The Tigers went from the host “bubble” to a national seed with the opportunity to play at home throughout the road to Omaha.

ULL, which earned a national seed for the first time in program history, faces Jackson State at 6 p.m. Friday. San Diego State plays Mississippi State in the 1 p.m. opener.

The regionals continue through Sunday. The double-elimination tournaments could finish on Monday depending on the outcome of the Friday through Sunday games.
